Dahlias were planted in the perennial garden in the front yard last year, instead of next to the vegetables as they were this season. They bloomed a bit earlier there, so I'll probably plant them there again next year. Posted is a raspberry colored variety a day or two away from opening. You can also see autumn flowers such as black-eyed Susans, goldenrod and purple-leafed perilla. Something about the clustering of the unfurled dahlia petals reminds me of the sixties model, Twiggy, and super short haircuts like Mia Farrow's Vidal Sassoon 'do in Rosemary's Baby. I s'pose that it's also, sigh, Bieber-like, to be a bit more contemporary in my references. : )
Just look at this Young George Clooney with Bieber-like hair. I hope Justin turns out as well with ten more years of maturing.
