A beautiful blue hydrangea inspired me this morning to gather together a few of my blue collectibles on my dark teal faux marble Formica kitchen counter. From top right is a mid-Thirties Roseville vase (Freesia); a pale blue "hobnail" creamer; a '56 Tbird tin case; AMC Gremlin, Sunbeam Alpine and Lincoln Mark III model cars; early 1900s Edgeworth tobacco tin; New England "splatterware" bowl; contemporary blue and white glass swirl vase; and in the background is a Hyundai shopping bag in the proper colors, lol . DITTO TO WHAT ANNIE SAID. I THINK.

Casey, I hate to tell you this but once again you're on the cutting edge of fashion. Teal is the "it" color this year. I know you'll hate that. LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful things. I WANT that tobacco tin! :)
Katie
Really? I used to know those things when I was an art director at Women's Wear Daily.
ReplyDeleteWhere is everybody? I hear an echo in here.
ReplyDeleteI love teal! The first quilt I made was a sampler quilt based on teal and purple - a lovely Amish-like color combination. (Although all prints, not Amish solids)
ReplyDeleteSo Casey's in his "blue period"; might a "rose period" be next a la the great Picasso?
How cool that you quilt, Brian. I'l have to keep "rose" in mind for the future!
ReplyDeleteDelicious mix of the blues - perfectly illustrating your sophisicated eye.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a use for the Hyundai bag !
This would be a great photo to use in one of your art pieces.
Thanks, PX. I try to use everything I have and always appreciate gifts to add to the artistic raw materials, lol!
ReplyDeleteYep, Casey. When you go to town, start looking at everyone's fingernails. Especially the young folks. You should start seeing teal nails any time now. (Last year's colors were turquoise and purple. You might still see a lot of those. I wear them!)

Have been sick the last few days, but felt up to a bit of browsing online today and this "study" makes me feel better! Thank you! I needed that.

Feel better, Mare. You're due for a few days of keeping your feet up and staying in your pajamas. Doctor Casey said so!
