Today's the first day of spring, 2012. Yay! We've been having great spring weather for a few weeks, well, most of the winter actually, lol. I found this beautiful 1970 AMC Javelin last week being brought out of its winter hibernation. It's hard to believe this car is 42 years old now! This is as great an image of spring cleaning as any I've photographed...
I BET YOU'D LOVE TO OWN IT. BEFORE I GAVE UP MY SUMMER PLACE IN UPSTATE N.Y. A FRIEND OF MINE THAT WENT TO MY CHURCH HAD A BEAUTIFUL YELLOW OLD, OLD CONVERTIBLE. GRAMPS IS OUT SHOPPING SO I CAN'T ASK HIM WHAT MAKE IT WAS, BUT IT WAS LONG AND HUGH. HE ALWAY TOOK IT TO CAR SHOWS. MAYBE THE 50'S. ALSO SO PROUD OF THAT CAR. HE KNEW HOW MUCH I LOVED THE CAR. HE WAS AT THE AGE THAT HE KEPT TELLING ME HE WANTED TO SELL IT. OH HOW I WANTED THAT CAR. ONE SUNDAY HE SAID FOR US TO COME OVER AND WE'D TALK. IT CAME UP WITH THE PRICE OF $5,000.00 BECAUSE IT WAS ME. SO WE TOLD HIM WE'D TAKE A DAY TO REALLY THINK ABOUT IT. WELL WE SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT THAT DAY BECAUSE THE NEXT DAY HE SAID HE JUST WASN'T READY TO GIVE IT UP. I REALLY UNDERSTOOD. CASEY, THIS CAR DIDN'T HAVE A MARK ON IT. IT PURRED LIKE A KITTEN. ANYWAY, IT WAS THE NEXT YEAR WHEN WE SOLD THE PLACE UP THERE BECAUSE IT WAS JUST TO MUCH TO KEEP TWO PLACES. DUSTY DIED LAST YEAR AND I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHO GOT THAT CAR. IT NEVER SAW A RAINDROP. DUSTY WAS SO IN LOVE WITH IT.ONE LAST THING. HE WOULD DRIVE THAT CAR OVER TO CHURCH JUST TO TEASE ME. IT WAS A RUNNING LAUGH BETWEEN US. HE WAS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON. I LOVED HIM TO PIECES. DUSTY AND HIS WIFE WERE PILLERS IN OUR SMALL CHURCH. ALWAY A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND HARD WORKER IN OUR CHURCH.
