good eye! the rear is a bit shorter. i think it would definitely be lighter and faster. Could even be a 2 seater with great fitted luggage behind the front seats.
"Fitted Luggage" was quite popular with high-end cars of the '30s through '60s. Mercedes, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, all had optional luggage that either matched the upholstery and fit together like a jigsaw in the trunk or rear seat.
The blue mustang is now the wall paper on my mac book, something about those door handles and tighter roof line that make it extremely appealing. I guess it is the fine details that's makes it pleasing to the eye. Also, the blurred out background with the sun going down (or up) sets the mood for the season, especially the baron looking trees.
How I interpet this illustration: the driver wants to have as much fun before winter sets in, somewhere in Connecticut. And we can only guess who the driver is... :)
Did you shorten the rear overhang on the Mustang? Nice proportions. I like it. It would be lighter(and faster?)than the fastback.

ReplyDeleteWasn't there a sports car that was sold with a set of luggage designed to fit specially in the trunk?

ReplyDeleteLove the Torino GT Sportroof - what did you base it on?
