After a long stretch of really boring and mundane Matchboxes, my grocery store selection perked right up with this 2011 Cadillac CTS Sportwagon model. Painted red, with a nicely detailed exterior, this tiny representation of GM's design mojo coming back. Ed Welburn is on his way to becoming one of the most important VPs of design for GM since Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell.
To see the real car, click over to Caddy's website for the CTS Sport Wagon. There's a "build your own" function for those rainy-day livingroom window shopping trips.
Just so you know, my grandson's room is quickly becoming 'Casey's Attic'. My daughter said over the weekend "we really have to get him a display case for some of his stuff - he doesn't throw anything away".
ReplyDeleteBefore cars it was frogs, he has a really great collection of them. I'm going to see if I can find this little car for him.
In addition he has all grandma's artwork that I have done for him. We may have to move him in to your space when you vacate it. lol
glad to hear about a new generation valuing things and collecting them!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen one of these Caddy wagons on the street? It's even hotter than the Magnum was. The price point is the only thing preventing me from getting one. But a lightly used low mileage executive's car in a couple years - where do I sign up?
ReplyDeleteone went by me one day while I was walking to town. It really made my head turn! I could see having one to fit my wooden art in the back for shows!
ReplyDeleteThe Wagon is a pretty perhaps the most stylistic GM car since the Buick Reatta. They took a lot of chances on this design too. Many associate any Caddy with a flat lift gate and long narrow rear side windows as a hearse.
