Kitchen Bouquet

My zinnias and dahlias are still flowering pretty well. Temperatures in the low forties last night, and perhaps high thirties tonight, should be no problem, and this weekend we should see low eighties by Sunday afternoon. I hope we have at least another month before a frost!

  1. Not really looking forward to the darker nights and colder days. The colorful flowers should help elevate some of my seasonal depression, lol.

  2. SO PRETTY. I WISH MY YARD WAS FULL OF THEM. TODAY I FOUND OUT MY LONG TIME DEAREST BEST FRIEND DIED[MATRON OF HONOR]THE FLOWERS MADE ME SMILE. I DIDN'T GET TO SAY GOODBY ALTHOUGH I WAS LUCKY TO CHAT WITH HER ON HER GOOD DAYS. SHE SPENT THE LAST MONTH IN THE HOSPITAL. SHE LIVED IN THE MOUNTAINS OF N.Y. UPSTATE. A REAL WOODS LADY. NOTHING SHE COULDN'T DO. EVEN SCARED A FEW BLACK BEARS AWAY OVER THE YEARS. EVEN SURVIVED ON DEAR MEAT WHEN THERE WASN'T ANY MONEY COMING IN WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG. HER HUSBAND WAS A FIRE RANGER AND TRAPPED IN THE WINTERS WHEN HE WAS ALIVE THAT'S THE WAY YOU DO IT WHEN YOU LIVE IN A ONE ROOM LOG CABIN WITH NO KITCHEN BUT A FIREPLACE. THOSE WERE SOME OF MY BEST TIMES GOING TO HER CABIN AND DRINKING FROM THE RIVER BEHIND THEIR CABIN AND FREEZING YOUR BUTT RUNNUNG TO THE OUTHOUSE.DINNERS COOKED OVER THE OPEN FIREPLACE. AND BATHS IN A ROUND TIN TUB. OH BARBARA I MISS YOU ALREADY. CANCER STINKS.

    THANKS FOR SHARING THE FLOWERS.

  3. I'm sorry about your friend, Granny. You have great memories though, and she'll live on in your heart.
