Happy Thanksgiving!
This 18th century secretary has seen more than two-hundred years of Thanksgivings come and go. Many of its contents have seen at least one-hundred turkey days. And some have been around for only those November feasts during my lifetime. No matter how many Thanksgivings you've enjoyed in the past, no matter how many trials and tribulations we've all had this past year—I know we've all had them—I hope today brings a little peace and harmony and delicious food for you and your loved ones.
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow." ~Melody Beattie

Thanks Casey! I love the idea of having something so special in your daily life to remind you of what all it has seen! Lovely piece of furniture.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too! Happy happy! :)
Hugs,
Katie
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope the tryptophan from the Turkey made everyone a little relaxed :)
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone had a good day. I didn't even finish cooking all the side dishes, but I took two naps, lol. I woke up about 3 hours earlier than I usually do so I could get the turkey in the oven and I guess it wore me out!
ReplyDeleteI JUST KNOW THAT EVERYONE HAD THE BEST TURKEY DAY. LIKE I'VE BEEN POSTING ON OTHER BLOGS I GO TO, I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT AT THIS MINUTE AND IT'S AFTER ONE IN THE MORNING, I HAVE A TURKEY GUT. I FELL ASLEEP AROUND 6 AND DIDN'T WAKE UP STILL 10 NOW WHAT'S A GRANNY TO DO BUT STAY UP ALL NIGHT. I KNOW I'LL NEVER GET BACK TO SLEEP. MAYBE IF I COUNT SHEEP IT MIGHT HELP.THE FOOD WAS JUST TO YUMMY THIS YEAR FOR SOME REASON.I BROKE DOWN AND MADE THE BEST DRESSING EVER. I PUT IT IN ONE OF THOSE ROASTING PANS YOU BUY TO THROW AWAY. ANYWAYS, THERE WAS JUST ABOUT TWO CUPS LEFT. I DIDN'T THINK I HAD IT IN ME TO COOK DRESSING. IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I COOKED FOR THE FAMILY. BUT THAT'S ALL I HAD TO BRING PLUS CRANBERRIES,CHEESECAKE AND ROLLS. NO BIG DEAL ON OUR PART. THEN SAT. WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER BIG DINNER AT THE OTHER DAUGHTERS' HOUSE BECAUSE THEY TOOK THE KIDS TO WASHINGTON DC THIS WEEK AND DIDN'T GET BACK. SO NOW SHE WANTS TO COOK DINNER FOR ALL OF US. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.ANYONE WANT TO COME ALONG? LOL
