SpringColour 2011. May Is Shaping Up Just Fine.

First year for these hybrid bearded Iris. Can you say GORGEOUS? : ) All images clickable to enlarge.

Lime and Raspberry Petunias, a new color blend for 2011! Planted with a pink verbena, a couple of young bush beans and a dark purple tradescanthia I wintered over. They're pale lavender/green now, but will darken as soon as they start growing more.

My front steps as of this morning. Pansies, Dianthus, Dusty Miller and Perilla in mix-n-match ceramic pots.

The new garden globe and emerging Siberian Iris. My Day lily leaves are almost 3 feet tall already.

I transplanted these German iris several years ago, and this is the first year they've bloomed.

A hybrid golden Iris about to bloom. The color will be great against the red brick chimney.

Siberian Iris. These have grown much taller than ever before, close to 3 feet!

  5. I'm going out Sunday to pick out my tomato plants, basil and zinnias. I enjoyed those three plants so much last year! many of my perennials are done with by the end of June but I'll have annuals for after that.

  8. THANKS FOR SHARING. THE FLOWERS ARE SO PRETTY. THEY MAKE ME SMILE. I MISS HAVING FLOWERS AROUND THE HOUSE. GRAMPS HAS SO MUCH WORK TO DO OUTSIDE AND NO ONE TO HELP HIM.HE'S BEEN WORKING ON A PROJECT FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS TRYING TO FIX A WATER PROBLEM WHEN IT RAINS RIGHT AT THE SIDE OF THE FRONT DOOR.HE'S LAYING PIPE ETC TO DRAIN THE WATER AWAY.I TOLD HIM WE SHOULD PLANT A SMALL GARDEN AND HE JUST GIVES THE GRAMP LOOK.

I HOPE YOU POST THE FLOWERS LIKE YOU DID LAST YEAR.

  9. tell Gramps that flowering plants and bushes will help soak up extra water from the ground. He won't have to worry about it!

  10. YOU'D LAUGH CASEY,THE AREA COULD BE TURNED INTO A FISHPOND IF HE'D JUST PUT CEMENT THERE SHAPED LIKE A POND. IF HE WAS YOUNGER HE MIGHT HAVE JUST DONE THAT FOR ME. WE HAVE THE PERFECT BACK YARD FOR MAKING SMALL FLOWER AREAS. HE JUST DOESN'T NEED MORE WORK.YOU KNOW THOSE TV SHOWS WHERE THEY KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR AND SAY WE'RE HERE TO REDO YOUR YARD? WELL GUESS WHO WANTS THAT KNOCK ON THE DOOR..ME!LOL IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN BUT IT WOULD BE NICE.
