The American Dream Found in the Road

Found on the side of a road during one of my daily walks, a perfectly flattened all-American baseball. My eyes were drawn to the threading, the colors, the obvious wear-and-tear, the steadfast way it refuses to actually fall apart. Perhaps the American Dream is a bit battered right now. It's a bit less flossy and glossy than it was, but when push comes to shove (or the leather-and-cotton meets the road), will the Dream will go on? Will we refuse to actually fall apart?

  2. Wow, who would have known that a simple old tattered baseball found alongside the road would have elicited such a rant. lol

All comments aside, I think it is a beautiful picture, love the shapes, angles and textures that you captured here Casey.

  3. Isn't there special places where Politics and Religion should be discussed? This blog is one of the most beautiful ones I occasionally visit. I sure hope it keeps up the way it always has been, and not a place where someone encourages arguments!!!! If this person wants to discuss those kinds of thoughts, he/she should do it on HIS/HER blog or go to one that they can/could do that.

I hope and pray Casey that your blog stays as it always has been...just beautiful and peaceful.

    1. How is anyone here encouraging arguments? This is a place where we can discuss anything. I like to post my photography and my view of life and encourage everyone to air their views of what they see here. It's all good. Thank you for visiting.

  5. And apparently I'm not getting email notifications of comments anymore. I didn't know anyone had commented here until I looked in just now. I'll have to see what's up with that.

  7. It makes me very sad indeed that we could be the greatest country in history & we have squandered our resources & talents to the super rich & religious fanatics.

But the flattened baseball is a thing you beauty.
