I decided to give one of my vintage garden frogs a quick facelift yesterday. This little guy was dark green for most of my life and about ten years ago I painted him dark purple. Looking at him recently I realized he really needed a fresh coat of paint to help preserve him—little cracks had appeared all over him and he was crumbling a bit underneath. My aunt Hoohoo was adamant about painting these little outdoor gems every year to protect them from rain and weather of all sorts, but I haven't been as dedicated. Of course, most of them are kept inside away from the elements now, but still, I should be more careful with them. I gave this little frog a nice thick coat of lavender paint and then spruced him up with black and silver polka dots and salmon-colored eyes the same shade as the house is painted. Although it's raining and dark out today, he's looking really bright and happy this morning!
