Drifting Wood, Stationary Rocks

Large trees are still washing up on the shoreline, post-Tropical Storm Irene. Driftwood has long been one of the muses of shoreline artists. While floating debris such as these trees is very dangerous while in the water, once they wash up, they're quite beautiful. Click on images to enlarge.

  1. Oh I LOVE these photos, reminds me of my growing up years beside the sea. Some of my favorite hours were spent amongst 'drifting wood & stationary rocks'...

...and the scent of the sea...

  2. To me very very interesting and unknown...something I have never seen along a shoreline for myself...you don't see true drift wood in a bass pond or a creek shallow enough to wade in..my experiences..
    I marvel at our differences..
    beautiful...thanks Casey
