When Business Class Just Won't Do

The Banker's Hotrod used to be a synonym for cars like the Buick Century of the Thirties and the Chrysler 300 of the Fifties. It could just as well describe this rear-wheel drive Lincoln sports coupe.

C H O P — One of my "oldies but goodies," this Lincoln Capri SV8 Coupe would be a Mustang-based luxury sports coupe. I like the aggressiveness and quiet luxury of this Lincoln, with its painted version of the Zephyr grille. I think it sets off the Lincoln star logo quite well. I suppose I should attempt a new one with Lincoln's signature split grille one of these days.

The interior would have four Recaro buckets in Nappa leather, with tasteful wood and aluminum trim pieces. Perhaps this is the model that could bring back the pillarless notchback bodystyle to the Mustang platform. Before it was a european sports coupe, and before it was a Mercury version of the Mustang. Capri was a trim level for Lincoln. I like using actual historical names for my non-actual fake cars, lol.

  2. OK, I'm intrigued. Anyone who mentions Recaros and Nappa leather is talking my language. But your not off the hook yet. How about a side, 3/4, rear or interior view ? Come on Casey, don't leave us hanging !

  3. I'm glad you did. Good Morning! My little iMac was acting up badly last night, probably the heat, so I'll probably leave it off this afternoon. Enjoy your day too!

  4. Keith: I think an updated version of a Lincoln sport coupe will be the next chop. I'm already visualizing the 3/4 front view. I"m wrapping up another quick book today, "Philadelphia Icons" and then I'll chop this one.
