The assorted Nasturtium seeds I planted in with this violet/purple Tradescanthia have turned out to be bright orange, a perfect complementary color for the grouping. This is the granite 'end table' next to the new granite bench. I can't wait for more of the orange buds to open up. Click images to enlarge.
Meanwhile, I planted the same assorted Nasturtium seeds next to the salmon-colored house and they've turned out to be peach colored. They look beautiful next to the almost same-colored wooden clapboards. The bright orange ones that have blossomed in the backyard would have looked garish in this placement. And who says there's no magic left in this world? The seeds were not marked on the envelope other than saying "various reds and oranges."
NASTURTIUMS. I HAVEN'T SEEN THEM SINCE I LIVED IN N.Y.MOM ALWAY HAD THEM IN HER FLOWER GARDEN.
ReplyDeleteVERY PRETTY.

We think alike.
ReplyDeleteCan I rent some chair space in your yard to read my books? I promise I will be no bother at all.
ReplyDeleteC'mon over! i'm shy and might stay inside, but you can read all day. there's a nice iron outside table and chairs with an umbrella that's perfect for late afternoon hummingbird viewing, it's only about 10 feet away from their sugar feeder.
ReplyDeleteHow does that GREEN thumb of yours look next to your hurt fingers??? amazing (what you call magic, I call miracles...whatever it is I have to say it is wonderful!)
ReplyDeleteAnnie, I tried once to get Casey to adopt all of us and let us pitch tents in the yard if need be...He keeps up all this awesomeness we are going to be lined up at this door...guess we'd have to find it first though, right?? Don't worry Casey, I truly am only kidding. You make us all wish we lived in a "pink gardens" house...

i only have one finger that's still mangled. I heal quickly! of course, I don't rest it, and I must have banged it against at least 10 things this week. i literally see stars! But it will be fine. At 53, i'm under no pressure to remain 'perfect' lol. A crooked finger is just fine with me. I can type so I can do what I need to. I haven't used Photoshop yet, that takes more mouse control and more finger twists, but I will by this weekend I'm sure.
