Shown above is the 76 page hardcover linen-cased book, in its own fitted white cardboard folder/box, devoted to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage—the 'entry-level' model in the lineup. I'm pretty sure this is the only hard-covered dealer brochure I've ever received. The book is filled with great color photos of the car in gorgeous settings, and includes historical photographs of Aston's racing career as well. In addition, all the specs are listed for the Coupe and Roadster. This takes the 'top shelf' position in my promotional collection!
For my own version of the V8 Vantage, see the post above, or click here.
I usually get the " oh, we have no more, please see our website" when ever requesting a brochure that I stopped asking for one. But I would imagine that most AM customers don't have time to go online while hedging bets against the market to make another million that day! People still appreciate paper and the touch of gloss to highlight their day and this treasure can be passed down to the next generation as a relic of what the 20th c, not some lame printout from Honda.
ReplyDeleteBring back the artisans, skilled craft-mans and the glory of yesteryear, please!
the best part was I didn't even ask! the guy asked me if I wanted one, and had to get them out of the trunk, which he closed right away, lol. i had a little angel on my shoulder I guess!
ReplyDeleteAwesome brochure Casey ! I agree with Woody 100% - holding a brochure like this in your hands really makes you feel special - as it should when your spending umpteen hundred thousand dollars - and no web brochure can compare to that. You lucky dog you !
ReplyDeleteHe should have let you take a spin, too.
ReplyDeleteWork it, Casey.
on an empty country road, maybe. i'd never drive such a car in bumper-to-bumper summer weekend Newport traffic. i swear every 2 minutes you heard the screech of imminent disaster, lol, especially the way pedestrians run the town, just walking into traffic whenever they feel like it almost daring you to hit them! and there were also a lot of bright green 3 wheelers, sort of low, sleek golf carts whizzing around. I don't think people really grasp how unstable 3 wheelers are. I saw one accelerate coming towards us and veered into our lane but caught it in time. We were in a brand new 2011 Outback and probably wouldn't have felt it. I was surprised how isolated the word was inside a new Subie. I could barely hear the famed horizontally opposed engine, quite unlike the '85 Subie we used to have.
ReplyDeleteCASEY, LOL MY LITTLE RED SCOOTER IS A THREE WHEELER. WATCH OUT HERE I COME, GET OUT OF MY WAY.
ReplyDeleteGRANNY
Granny,
ReplyDeleteAnyone ever tell you how funny you are?
Be careful going around corners with your 3 wheeler! Don't want you go end up with the potted palms in Tampa!
ReplyDeleteReliant Robins. Get off the sidewalks and run.

Casey,
ReplyDeleteI'd be thrilled to drive one of these no matter the traffic. A few months ago I reserved a minivan to get some things out of storage and Hertz gave me an Escalade -- I was terrified at first, but after a few minutes (and in NYC traffic) I was whipping it around like noboby's business! The rear view camera and the lane departure warning and all those gadgets (that I'd never experienced before) were great. I'm sure you could handle a little old Aston-Martin!
