Growing my own art subjects is just another part of the control process, I mean the fun process!
M Y G A R D E N — Pictured are only four of the almost endless shades my Zinnias have blossomed into. There are blooms in orange, reddish orange, pink, orangy pink, lavendery pink, red, purply red, white, yellowy white, and many more. Watching them as closely as I do, walking among them several times each day, I've found that a blossom that might look like a Daisy one day, with just single petals surrounding the central part, by the next day may have filled out into something more akin to a button Chrysanthemum.
It's fun watching blooms open up. Nothing beats a Wisteria bloom though. It starts out looking like a normal flower bud, then morphs into something akin to a green pinecone, then over the span of several days accordians out to a bloom that is 10-12" long and resembles grapes hanging on a vine.

PX AS ANNIE CALLS YOU, I AGREE, LOVE WISTERIA. JUST BEFORE WE MOVED FROM TEAS I SAW ONE GROWING ON AN EMPTY LOT OUT IN RANCHLAND COUTRY. I GOT A SHOVEL AND WENT BACK AND DUG IT UP AND REPLANTED THE PLANT AT MY HOUSE. THEN WE ENDED UP MOVING TO FLORIDA. I OFTEN WONDERED IF THAT WISTERIA EVER MADE IT TO BRING FOURTH FLOWERS. THE NEW OWNERS PROBABLY MOWED RIGHT OVER IT THINKING IT WAS A WEED. THEIR ONE OF MY FAVORITE FLOWERS. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY GROW HERE IN FLORIDA.I DON'T HAVE A FLOWER IN MY YARD YET AS GRAMPS HAS WAY TO MUCH WORK TO GET DONE ON THE HOUSES. MAYBE NEXT YEAR.

CASEY, I THINK I COULD PAINT THESE FLOWERS ALSO IF I HAD SOME OILS AND NEW PAINT BRUSHES. NOT A BIG PICTURE BECAUSE I CAN'T FREE STYLE ANYTHING. I TRACE,DRAW THEN PAINT. IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE I PICKED UP A BRUSH. FORGOT HOW TO DO MUCH OF THE THINGS I LEARNED YEARS AGO BUT I DO WATCH A COUPLE OF PAINTING SHOWS EVERY SAT. MORNING. IT'S ON PUBLIC TV [PBS] I KNOW IT'S IN MY BLOOD.

PX: I love wisteria too. Used to have it at the family home. I should get a plant for here. Maybe in the spring after the house is finally finished being painted. It would look great growing up on the porch.
ReplyDeleteAnnie: there are no mistakes in art, so just go for it! Paint can always be painted over when it's dry too. You'll have fun!
