Hyundai's Sonata Hybrid Needs a Coupe

You can count the number of Hybrid pillarless coupes available on the market right now on the fingers of no hands, lol. Hyundai—call me! Let's make this happen!

C H O P — Hyundai's new coupe-like styling of its sedans makes chopping a true coupe that much easier. I made the C pillar thicker than the sedan's though, to make up for the lack of the B pillar in this pillarless coupe. I think the new Sonatas are smashing looking, and I think a true luxury bodystyle as pillarless coupes have become in recent years, could only be a great showroom draw for its new Hybrid model.

  1. Oh, I don't know about coupes. Today was nice, put the top down on the Beetle turned on a little (bad) country music and tootled my way home from the store. Helps to put back the kid in ya. Guess that's way I see so many little old men driving around in their caps and sports cars. Smiling...

  2. When I first saw a Sonata in a parking lot, I really didn't recognize it as a Hyundai until I walked up to it. It looked expensive, maybe even German. Hyundai and Kia are really headed in the right direction. I wouldn't be surprised to see them right up there with Honda, Nissan and Toyota soon.

In the looks department, Honda styling especially, has been a little weak. Toyota and Nissan are playing it safe - not too exciting.

    My word verification is "Squatted."
    Charming... :)

  3. I agree about Hyundai and Kia. I think they're on a fantastic roll with styling and technology. I'd definitely consider one if I could afford another car. I'll probably have my Infiniti for the rest of my life, lol. Not that I'm complaining, I love that car. But I'd love to have a hybrid, and this Sonata would do it for me,
