Reaching for the Sky First Thing in the Morning

The morning glories are really coming into their own right now. I had 17 blossoms this morning, all this same variety called Heavenly Blue. I just wish they were afternoon glories. I hate getting up in the morning to go out and catch them before they shrivel up and turn purpley-pink.

They're opening at just above eye level for me, around 6 feet tall, which makes the Lemon Sunflower closer to 7 feet tall I guess. The tallest sunflower is on the other side of the garden and isn't in bloom yet.

I like the bright blue sky at the top and the darker blue of the morning glories on the bottom of this photo. This sunflower is going to have 5-7 blossoms. I keep finding new buds in the crooks of the leaves, but each new one is a bit smaller than the last one. Be sure to click this image as the morning glories don't really show up at this size.

A Study in Green and Blue. Nothing is really spotlighted in this photo, but the blues of the flowers blend in with the blues of the sky and creates a great abstract assemblage of summer greens and blues.
