Wowzah!

Self-portrait from 1999-2000, in front of my old '83 240D.

And now a brief message from our sponsor, lol.
As of this morning, Casey/Artandcolour has logged more than 10,000 hits from 281 separate posts! When I started this blog in late February of this year, I had no idea how long I would do continue it, I had no idea if anyone would find it or read it, I was pretty much clueless about its future! All I knew was that I had plenty of car chops to post if I couldn't think of anything else. As time went on, and I started receiving feedback, writing the blog seemed to be the most natural thing, a real extension of my art and my life. So I have a big thank you to say to everyone that has been clicking on my posts and commenting on them and for entering my life! I spent ten-twelve hours just yesterday scanning and working on old and new photos for this blog, and I  have a seemingly endless supply of things to post in the future. So, stay tuned, stay cool, and let me just say...

  3. Exactly...I re-read my tomato early morning post and thought "What?"

BTW I love your self-portrait, now did you flare that sun or was that how it was captured?

Good news it's only 86 today.

  4. Annie: The flare was natural, but it was a color photo to begin with. When I made it black and white and filtered it with a bit of noise, the flare stood out much more.

i've gone from "that" look to almost shoulder-length hair, bleached it blonde, dyed it dark brown and shaved it all off. now i look almost exactly like i did in this photo, lol.

  5. My goodness, your hair's been through almost as much as mine.

Chidhood - My brothers and I weren't really allowed to have hair. My mother gave us a buzz cut every month. In the winter we had a short fringe of bangs that stood at attention with the help of pink wax that came in a tube. Butch Wax.

High school - Shaun Cassidy style with subtle blond streaks just to make it my own.

College - As soon as I left the house I cultivated and nurtured a David Bowie orange mullet.

College - Shaved it off. Back to buzz cut.

Montreal - Past my shoulders, parted in the middle coppery, wavy hair inspired by Albrecht Durer self-portrait.

Most of my adult life - well kept corporate conformist 'do.

Now - As most of my hair has made the voyage from my shower drain and out into Boston Harbor, I keep it short.

Whew, I'm outta breath. Thanks for listening,

    Marius

  6. perfect timing, Marius. I just buzzed my hair off 10 minutes ago, lol. i pretty much paralleled yours with the Bowie hair too. Luckily my "corporate" years were spend in art departments and in the fashion biz so I could always be wild. I cut my own hair for a good 20 years. Now i'm back to doing it myself too. thanks for the comment!

  7. The George Michael shadow look, looks pretty cool but I never allowed hair to grow on my muzzle :) Just too itchy for me.

  8. lol. i shave pretty regularly now because it's mostly gray, and it doesn't look as 'cool' as a dark 5:00 shadow. i have a 'soul patch' now, it's still pretty dark there.
