Meet Sleepy Situation

Disney meets the Jersey Shore—This is a circa 1955 Sleepy character from Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He's about nine inches tall, and of plastic/composite construction. Several years ago, I decided to wash his cotton velvet clothes, and they haven't exactly fit him since, lol. His mustard-colored shirt-vest won't close, so he's now permanently showing off his abs, a la Jersey Shore's The Situation, Mike Sorrentino.

  1. OMG, I am laughing so hard, the whole 'situation' totally cracks me up, you washing Sleepy's little clothes, perhaps using a wee washboard, then the inevitable 'shrinkage' all the way to the Jersey Shore bare chest.....rofl

Great way to end the day. ;)

  2. well, we need a laugh now. Apparently Comcast, new owner of MSNBC, just fired Olbermann. He announced tonight that it was the last edition of Countdown. I'm beside myself!

  3. Yes, watching Anderson right now talking about it.... I wonder where Keith will go now....maybe CNN

The one I don't care for is The Ed Show, I always switch off MSNBC for that hour. Not so much his views as his delivery.

  4. I agree with you about Ed. Since he came on at 6pm, I usually switch to local news for the weather etc. I haven't warmed up to Lawrence O'Donnell either. I can watch him once in a while, but I think I'll be watching a lot more reruns on TNT or Discovery or History channel at 8pm now.

I'd watch CNN if Olbermann was on it, but I don't watch anyone on it regularly anymore. I don't like any of their "opposing" side people Even tonight, AC had on Eric Ericson, a horrible person. It was an insult to even have him utter an opinion about Olbermann. Oh well. I read enough online to keep informed... Maybe Keith will write a blog or column from now on.

  6. I'll greatly miss Olbermann, too, but I rather suspect he'll get his own Sirius/XM radio show right away and then when his contract allows, some other liberal network will put him back on the air. Even the people who said he was difficult also said he's extremely talented. I learned a lot from him and was quite a faithful watcher of his show. He did a piece on what the tea party candidates were advocating, country-wide, right before the last election that made me quake in my boots! And it was clips of them saying it, so no one could say he was making it up or slanting it! I'll miss him until he resurfaces!

And Sleepy is adorable! I also love the blue dish next to him, Casey!

  7. Thanks, Katie, I'm hoping Olbermann writes Op-Eds for maybe the Huffington Post or something online.

I think that blue dish is called Hobnail, and I have several pieces of it, vases, bowls, etc. It's all that light blue with those raised dots all over it. I even have a full 8 oz corked bottle in that style, with a cologne called "Apple Blossom" by Wrisley of New York and Chicago. I have no idea if it was like Avon or what. At 8 oz it couldn't have been too exclusive, lol.
