MorningColour

Bright magenta and orange Zinnias contrast with the Sixties lavender marbled ceramic vase. One of Plymouth's last concept cars, the Pronto Spyder n 1:24 scale sits alongside a1:43  '67 Shelby GT350 and three Matchbox size VWs.

This is a striped vase I've painted with flowers all the way around it. It's a composite material, and those black and white stripes are actually grooves in the vase, giving it a great texture to look at and to touch. There is a little brownish-gray mouse visible from this side at the bottom. Next to the vase is the tail-end of my early 20th century horse-drawn Borden's milk wagon. I love the colors on the vintage tin and wood toy, and use variations of them in many of my pieces of art. The wagon is always on a shelf in whatever room I'm working in, so I can be inspired by it.

  2. The vase is gorgeous - love the ribs running through it. It must have been very challenging to paint.
Your sources of inspiration are inspirational!

  3. Granny: The little man is Uncle Sam! He's a plastic bank from the '50s. You put a coin in his hand, push a button on the "floor" near his shoes, and his suitcase opens up and the coin drops into it! It doesn't work all that well now, but I keep it around. I'll take a photo of it by itself one of these days.

    can't believe that verification, PX! : )

  7. Thanks Casey, indeed, their beauty is far reaching and long lasting..more of your art touching those near and far.
I have a slide show of family as well on my phone which I LOVE (adore actually), but the flowers don't ask anything of me or have any attachment, they just show their beauty and make me happy...period...

  8. WOODY WOODY COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE. IT'S GETING LATE FOR ME. I'M JUST TIRED TONIGHT SO I'M GOING OFF TO BED. WE HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM AND THE DARN THING GOES OFF EVERY MORNING AT 4:30. IT CAME WITH THE HOUSE AND WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO REPROGRAM THE THING. SO I GET UP AND PUSH ALL THE WRONG BUTTONS. I'VE ASKED GRAMPS EVERYDAY THIS WEEK TO CALL AND SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE. HE HASN'T DONE IT YET. SO I TOLD HIM THAT I'M GOING TO WAKE HIM UP TOMORROW MORNING AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK LOL I'VE GOT A HAMMER. BANG BANG.

    GOOD NIGHT GUYS AND GALS.

    GRANNY
