Plaids & Dolls: The German Years

Ca. 1956 polaroids shot in Germany. Mom wearing picnic plaid, and Dad wearing a doll on his shirt for some reason, lol. Fifties Fun.

  1. YOUR MOM AND DAD WERE GOOD LOOKING PEOPLE. WHAT'S WRONG WITH LOVING DOLLS/ IF HE WANTED TO WEAR A DOLL SO WHAT. LOL

  2. Germany and bears seem to go hand in hand. When I lived in Berlin we had bears everywhere. The bear on your dad's shirt looks very familiar, like I have seen it in a storybook or something. P.S. what's the car in the background in the photo on the left?

  3. you know that car in the corner has me stumped. it seems a bit upright for an American car, but a lot of servicemen had their American cars brought to Germany so it might be. It sort of looks like a Country Squire, or maybe a euro wagon of some sort. it's also in the corner and the depth of field from the lens might be playing tricks with the proportions.

  4. I think that doll on your Dad's shirt is a Berenstain Bear, not that was the question, it was just bugging me.

  7. omg, casey, rofl...I didn't notice the face before. I think you should be more worried about the small head your dad has on his shoulder than the bear doll on his chest. lol must have been some beer-fest.
