. . . There Was Art With a Lot of Color
Two drawings I found today, almost 20 years old, done in 1991. These are fanciful renderings for my mythical car company, Delgiata. The GT/3 is at the top, and the Quattroporte is on the bottom. I wasn't trying to create anything "real" but rather cars that had a fun streak; sleek and colorful way beyond the futuristic silver and gray concept cars making the rounds of shows back then. Click on each image to see the pastels and colored pencil work in greater detail.
I STAYED UP TO WATCH THE DEFENDERS AND NOW TIME TO GO TO BED. I JUST WANTED TO CHECK IN AND SEE IF I MISSED ANYTHING. JUST SO YOU KNOW I'D BUY EITHER ONE OF THESE CARS. THEIR DIFFERENTAND SOMEWHAT CUTE.AT LEAST IT MIGHT TURN A HEAD OR TWO WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. COLORS.
ReplyDeleteGOOD NIGHT PAL.

The top pic reminds me a bit of the Mitusbishi Eclipse and Ford Probe of the day with the flat roof line and rear slopping rear glass line.
ReplyDeleteThe alloy wheel shape with the 6 pointed star, looks a bit like Jewish stars...lol
Hi Casey, glad you survived your high heat day in the attic. It's fun to see your early work you posted...I like the hot green and pink model, but I'm afraid the cops would always have their eye on me.
ReplyDeleteJust for fun, I posted a little question for you on my blog. Curious if you might have an answer. ???????
Also Hoohoo doggie costumes are too funny. For years I made all the Halloween costumes for my kids, and then the grand-kids and great-grand boy. Never for a dog though. I will have to see if I can round up some photos for a Halloween blog post next month.
I'll bring some lemonade by tomorrow when you take a work break.
Woody: Tonight when I was scanning them, I thought I saw a bit of the second generation Probe in the sports coupe too! When did it come out? I want to say after '91 but I can't remember.
ReplyDeleteAnnie: I'll be right over!
Granny: How was the Defenders? I watched SVU for 2 hours.
CASEY, I ENJOYED THE SHOW ONLY BECAUSE I LOVE THE TWO GUYS THAT STAR [JOHN AND WHAT'S HIS NAME]. JUST A LITTLE SENILE LOL. I CAN'T THINK OF HIS NAME BUT I KNOW I HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM. I DON'T STAY UP FOR JUST ANYONE. LOL.
ReplyDeleteTHE RUG IS SLOWLY DRYING OUT. WE SHOULD'VE REPLACE THAT WATER HEATER WHEN WE BOUGHT THE PLACE. WE DIDN'T AND NOW IT WE PAY. INSURANCE IS A JOKE. THEY STILL GET YOU IN THE POCKETBOOK.

I agree with Woody, Casey. The top illustration looks like the 2nd generation Probe, which wasn't introduced until 1993 !
ReplyDeleteI still love the wraparound window designs that were popular in the late 80's, early 90's - I had a 1993 Sable and loved it. Your Quattroporte would have been an excellent successor to that model, instead of the ghastly 1996 Sable that they insulted us with.
