Don't be Mad at Elegance

Seville's triumphant return as the premium owner/driver Cadillac for 2012. Rear- and all-wheel drive available; V6, Supercharged V8, TurboDieselHybrid. Every amenity and contemporary safety item. Prix Fixe, everything standard. The Standard of Today's World

Hot off the Photoshop process, lol! Chop is a little rough around the edges, but I have so many I want to do right now! This reborn Seville looks pays homage to the severe notchback roofline of the groundbreaking original late 1975 model. For a bit of contemporary street theater, the LED head- and taillights extend quite far into the fenders and operate in day-and nighttime running modes.

  1. You are what you drive????? Hmmmm, I wonder... I know a hairstyle can make me feel dramatically different. I wonder if I drove a Seville I would feel different than when I am in my little Beetle - it has a bit of a "sassy" feel to it.

  2. Some of us don't even need wheels to look sassy. :P

Anyway, the 70s Sevilles were really handsome cars before that bustle back thing happened. I like this chop, mixing a little art and science with the more formal profile.

There is even one close to you guys, moving costs would be next to nothing. We can start our own Blog Commune just like the 60's with an updated touch. ;)

  4. there are a lot of little islands off the coast near me, the Thimble Islands. I'd love to live on one of them. Jane Pauley and Garry Trudeau live on one of them. there's a boat tour that goes all around them. supposedly Captain Kidd his some treasure on one of them.

  5. Wonderful chop Casey ! Nice homage to the original. Given the choice, I'd rather drive this than yesterday's MKS.
Now about that island Annie ....

  6. Oh, and I applaud the fixed pricing idea ! "Truth in selling" can be the tagline. The reality that a 30,000 car can be optioned to 50,000 or 60,000 is ridiculous. If it is made an option, the designer that created it wanted it to be standard in the first place !

  7. 7 acre island off Nova Scotia with a mainland lot included on Ebay. No house, no nothing. Bidding is at $9500.00

There are dozens of islands here too, Casey. Only a few are inhabited. You can take a boat out in the summer to George's Island and then a water taxi to the smaller ones. Seagulls get rather upset when you get near their nesting areas, which can be a little scary.

  8. Very classy! It also looks comfortable and not bloated like the last generation model.

  9. What is it about ANY Cadillac that I just don't care for? I never have ( and that is not anything against your chop casey!!!) ...however, I never met a Lincoln I didn't like :) Is there REALLY that much difference in the styles? You KNOW I know NOTHING about cars and don't even try to pretend I do, so that is a real question...why would i love Lincolns and not Cadillacs? This inquiring mind would like to know...

  11. If you want to cap your evening off with a chuckle, just read the descriptions under these photos of worst dressed. Some of them made me laugh out loud.

This is exactly why I never make Red Carpet appearances. Sleep well everyone.

  12. That's OK Mare! Cadillacs tend to be more flamboyantly styled, and Lincolns have traditionally been more tasteful, though there have definitely been some gaudy Lincolns too, lol.

  13. Casey,

There certainly have been some gaudy Lincolns! I'm thinking of the 70s body, starting in about 1974 when they started using filigree moldings and the like. Of course, these more ornate Lincolns sold very well so I guess that's what people were looking for. And the 70s of course were the low point of automotive styling for the most part. The Cadillacs of that era were pretty baroque as well. Ah, the 70s -- how did we ever survive?

  14. Casey...

The world would be a better place if Mr. Obama would name you the "Full sized American sedan Czar". Your work on the Lincoln Town Car / Continental, Seville / SDV and the 300C above are off the charts. This country needs an Art Deco... or Harley Earl-esque renaissance. Something that says bigger [yet efficient at the same time] is better again. It portrays that consumption is good I feel. We have tightened the purse strings too much in this country... we need to spend to revive this economy. Plus, when there is something to dream about it makes one strive to atain that... your Lincoln and Caddy make me proud to be an American and want to drive those beautiful coachhouse sedans.

    Fantastic as usual Casey.
